The 1st Annual ACT Mutt Strut Poker Run was held on October 16, 2005 over a 1.5-mile route that stretched from the Pet Supermarket to Colombo’s Burgers A Go-Go. Over 100 people attended and there were plenty of great prizes for the best poker hands, biggest, littlest, and cutest dogs, and raffles. Thanks to the participation of the community, the event raised more than $1,000, all of which benefits our local animals!
10% of the Animal Coalition’s proceeds from fundraisers such as the Mutt Strut Poker Run go directly to the El Dorado County Animal Control Shelter to assist in purchasing items and services such as adoption kits, treats, toys, dog and cat beds, and grooming gift certificates. The balance of the proceeds is used to fund the ACT spay-neuter program for low-income dog and cat owners in the South Lake Tahoe area.
Thank you to Colombo’s for providing the closing party site, Fast Print for the flyers and tickets, and Pet Supermarket, Sports LTD, Big Dogs, Pandora’s Trunk, Rockwater Bar and Gill, and Cantina, for hosting our card drawing stations.
A special thank you to the following local merchants who participated by donating raffle and poker hand prizes:
